Throughout 2016 Lillie Square captured the imagination of the world’s media. With over half of the development dedicated to open green space and beautiful landscaping by Chelsea Flower Show gold medalist, Andy Sturgeon, Lillie Square took centre stage in Absolutely Magazine’s feature on London’s new builds, providing exceptional outdoor space. The full-page article described Lillie Square as “taking gardens seriously”; spaces in between buildings are just as important as the buildings themselves.
In this years Chelsea Flower show, Andy took home his second win for ‘Best Show Garden’, elevating Lillie Square’s popularity with the property world’s news pages, from the UK’s Town & Country through to Horticultural Week.
The Metro highlighted how precious these green spaces are for all city-dwellers, while Centurion Magazine praised it for its rarity of green space in the capital. The UAE newspaper The National noted that Lillie Square’s partnerships with figures like Andy Sturgeon gives “new meaning to green homes.” Lillie Square is as a prime example of the best-in-class when it comes to landscape design.
There is a growing appeal in landscape design in the world of property, and The Sunday times covered this with a full-page feature. Caroline Donald embarked on a mission to find out why the world’s best gardeners, like Andy, are rivalling the traditionally sought-after ‘starchitects’ and interior designers. She celebrates both the expertise in the creation process of these outdoor spaces, and the undeniable value they bring to new homes.
The Garden Collection at Lillie Square launched summer this year and was received with much anticipation and excitement, inspiring many PR pieces, including influential property journalist, David Spittles, (Evening Standard). As the next phase of one of the capital’s most highly anticipated developments, he featured this exclusive range of duplex apartments, complete with private gardens designed by Andy Sturgeon.
Over the course of the year several publications covered Earls Court’s growing profile and investment opportunities, including The Times, The Financial Times and City AM, who have highlighted Lillie Square as one of the top development in the area. Knight Frank have also commissioned a specialist in-depth piece that brought further attention to the postcode.
The last couple of months in the press have continued to celebrate Lillie Square. The ‘Joy of Modern Living’ in The Resident Magazine explored London’s growing love affair with new homes and why this style of home is so appealing. The admiration for ‘Best of British’ was also marked with the capital’s annual design festivals, inspiring the media to look at how developers use world-class talent, inside and out.
All in all, it’s been a busy year for Lillie Square. As a recent City AM article summarised: “now may be the perfect time to go west and invest”.
